Considerations

• demonstration of <5cm simple nonseptate cyst by ultrasound is essentially 100% physiologic and benign. If cyst >5cm, but less than 7cm, annual followup recommended.
• if cyst >7cm or has internal echoes or complexity (i.e hemorragic cyst, endometrioma, hydrosalpix, dermoid) then short term followup in 2-3 menstrual cycles. If growth then pelvic MRI and ? Surgery
