Considerations

• MRA or CTA most accurate and specific. Ultrasound with doppler also accurate although probably second line with normal renal function. Nuclear renal scan with captopril may have role, but often presurgical or followup.
• with decreased renal function consider ultrasound>MRA without gadolinium

Recommended tests

• MRI abdomen without gadolinium
• US kidneys
• CTA for renal artery stenosis
• MRA renal/abdominal aorta
