CT cervical spine without IV contrast (post surgical)


Strengths
1) Generally used for acute trauma evaluation with moderate to high clinical suspicion; consider standard XRAY if low suspicion: 2) Occasional use for post surgical eval of hardware or known fracture followup. No IV contrast needed for either.
Limitations
Evaluation of spinal stenosis, possible infection, mass, mets and other indications generally need MRI.
Contraindications
None.
