- 1) Generally used for acute trauma evaluation with moderate to high clinical suspicion; consider standard XRAY if low suspicion: 2) Occasional use for post surgical eval of hardware or known fracture followup. No IV contrast needed for either.

- Evaluation of spinal stenosis, possible infection, mass, mets and other indications generally need MRI.
