MRI brain with contrast
- Strengths
- IV gadolinium helpful in characterization of neoplasm, detection of meningitis and staging acuity of demyelinating disease.
- Limitations
- Contrast usually not needed when screening for non-focal symptoms (i.e headache, ataxia, syncope, dementia dizziness) or for acute stroke.
- Contraindications
- Standard MR questionaire as to contraindicated implanted devices, surgery, etc.
