CT facial bones / orbits
- Strengths
- good for fractures/trauma. IV contrast generally not needed. If concern for facial cellulitis or orbital abscess, CT can be useful for diagnosis but will then need IV contrast
- Limitations
- If suspect a mass or symptoms chronic, generally MRI much better.
- Contraindications
- None. Renal insufficiency if IV contrast planned.
