- Strengths
- pre- or post-stent or surgical evaluation of known abdominal aortic aneurysm. Includes 3D imaging and specific required measurements. If this is for thoracic aortic aneurysm, then use CTA chest (indication: aortic aneursym, NOT pulmonary embolism).
- Limitations
- If just for screening, use standard CT abdomen and pelvis with IV contrast or consider ultrasound.
- Contraindications
- 1) Allergy to contrast, but we will premedicate patient as necessary; 2) IV contrast will be dose-adjusted dependent upon creatinine clearance.
