- Strengths
- Generally will need INR<2.0 and platelets >50K. MUST specify side (right or left). Also specify if therapeutic or diagnostic (fluid will be sent for routine lab evaluation unless otherwise specified). On site radiology nurse support.
- Limitations
- Additional Information: very low complication rate. Consider standing order if plan recurrent procedures.
- Contraindications
- Coagulopathy. Some anticoagulants must be held for procedure: coumadin held until INR<=2; lovenox held 1 dose or 12 hours prior to procedure; plavix and full dose aspirin prefer to hold 3-5 days.
