CT urogram

Strengths
Hematuria evaluation. Known ureteral or kidney stones or bladder mass.
Limitations
If only for screening for stones, use CT abdomen and pelvis without IV contrast. Ultrasound may find stones, but relatively insensitive. CT near 100% sensitive for stone detection (even when using IV contrast)
Contraindications
1) Allergy to contrast, but we will premedicate patient as necessary; 2) IV contrast will be dose-adjusted dependent upon creatinine clearance.
