- evaluate kidney size, structure and possible hydronephrosis. Includes bladder survey.
- Limitations
- If stone or mass suspected, CT is more sensitive first line study (nearly 100% stone detection rate); CT better for non-localizing symptoms - will evaluate all abdominal structures INCLUDING kidneys.
