- Strengths
- Generally for specialized fracture evaluation, presurigical evaluation. Evaluation non-union, etc; Includes 3D imaging.
- Limitations
- If concerned for abscess, osteomyelitis or mass, MRI preferred. If must use CT, need IV contrast, but likely will not be able to adequately assess for early osteomyelitis or characterize most masses beyond their detection only.
